3rd Year of Camp

Let's do it again

Let's do it again

"Camp DIG review!  This was my daughter’s 3rd year at Camp DIG! She absolutely loves it and it has been a huge confidence boost for her in many areas.  Combining the academic work with good old fashioned outdoor play is genius. What more could a kid want than to play in a creek and have a slime fight? She’s made friends she would’ve never met and made core memories to last a lifetime. We are so grateful to Ms. Shelley for the gift of Camp DIG!"

" To see my kids have a safe place where they could laugh, play, and learn was really special. I was worried that they wouldn't be able to make it through four long weeks of school and tutoring. I couldn't have been more wrong, by the end of camp these kids are all ready to wake up and do it all over again. As a homeschool mom of five, it was also a little break for me too where I could get other eyes on my kids education and how I can help them improve. The pre and post camp assessments were really insightful. Truly grateful for the opportunity."

"Camp D.I.G. has been an incredible experience for our family. Mattix absolutely thrived in the structured, encouraging environment, and we saw growth not only academically but also in his confidence and maturity. It was clear from the very beginning that the directors, tutors, and counselors genuinely care about each child and are deeply invested in helping them succeed.  The positive, supportive community was such a blessing to our family. I could see that every child was treated with patience, kindness, and respect, and the staff worked together to foster an environment where learning was both engaging and encouraging. The combination of quality instruction, meaningful relationships, and fun activities made Camp D.I.G. a place our son looked forward to attending each day.  The dedication of the entire team was evident in everything they did. They invested their time, energy, and hearts into the children, and it showed. As a parent, it was encouraging to know that Mattix was surrounded by people who believed in him and celebrated his progress.  We are incredibly grateful for you Ms. Shelley and the impact Camp D.I.G. has had on our son. Thank you for providing a caring, supportive, and academically enriching time at Camp D.I.G.!"

Amazing Team

Beyond Grateful

"This is the third year my boys have attended Camp DIG (Dyslexia Is a Gift), and I can’t say enough good things about this incredible program.

My son, Keanu, was diagnosed with dyslexia several years ago. Like many children with dyslexia, reading and math were a daily struggle. When I was homeschooling him, I often felt like I was failing because we struggled so much to learn to read. At the time, we didn’t know he had dyslexia.

Unfortunately, many teachers aren’t trained to recognize dyslexia or know how to teach children who learn differently.

Finding Camp DIG has been such a blessing. Shelly Bartlett and her amazing team have completely changed Keanu’s confidence, not only in reading but in school as a whole. Reading has become almost effortless for him, and he’s learned strategies that have helped him overcome so many of the challenges that once seemed impossible.

One of the things I love most about Camp DIG is that they also offer Sibling Camp, allowing brothers and sisters without dyslexia to attend too. It’s been such a special experience for both of my boys, giving them the opportunity to make memories together while each has a camp experience designed just for them.

If you have a child with dyslexia, or know someone who does, I wholeheartedly recommend Camp DIG. It has truly been life-changing for our family, and I will always be grateful for the difference Shelly and her team have made in my son’s life.

Sometimes all a child needs is someone who understands how they learn. Camp DIG has been that for Keanu."

Beyond Grateful

"I have spent so much time praying over Jake and his journey with dyslexia, and this camp was truly an answered prayer. I never even knew something like this existed and never thought to search for a dyslexia camp because I didn’t realize it was an option. Jake has experienced a mix of intervention in different learning environments, but this camp gave him something special — the chance to work on his individual needs while being surrounded by other kids who understood him. For the first time, he realized he was not alone and that there were other children of different ages facing similar struggles. This experience grew his confidence academically, socially, and emotionally. He was so heartbroken when camp ended that he had cried the last two days, which shows just how much this community meant to him. We are so grateful for this experience and are already looking forward to next year! I also loved that his younger sibling was able to attend at the same time, allowing him to feel included in the experience as well.   Thank you, Ms. Shelley, for being truly God-sent and creating a place where children with dyslexia can feel seen, understood, and supported. You have given families like ours hope and given kids like Jake the confidence to know they are not alone. We are beyond grateful. "

"First time attending the camp. I did not expect the nature/animals being so much a part of it and I really liked it. The study and play were as expected.  I felt like I fit in. My favorite teacher was the Math teacher, she said if you don’t remember my name call me Ms. Princess! I am most thankful for the counselors because they were kind, sweet, funny, and smart. They made me feel like they were glad I was a part of the camp. My most favorite memory is swimming because it was fun to be playing with friends, jumping in the pool, attacking, just being silly. I also loved robotics because Levi made it really fun!

"I actually never knew there was a camp for Dyslexia. So I was excited and nervous to go.  It was really fun and they had a bit of everything. It felt like public school and homeschool and it was really really good.  All the teachers were very very nice. My top classes is equipping minds, robotics and math. My favorite teacher was Ms. Audrey because she was nice, she listen to me and let me sound out before helping me. She also had putty you could use during the session to help me focus. "
